Founded in 1916, this 8700-member professional association is the regulatory body and official voice for nurses in this Canadian province.

 

Task

In 2004, Populus was assigned with the design, deployment, and support of the Nursing Association Management System (NAMS), whose primary functions include:

 -Registration

-‘Cash register’ to process financial transactions

-Credentials verification

-Scheduling of Canadian nursing exams

-Tracking work hours to assure minimum amount achieved

-Demographics tracking

-Taxable receipt generation

-Collect analyses and export education, demographic, and employment information

-Interface-to-accounting system

-Electronic file classification manager for paper-based records

-Verification of credentials service for registered employers

-Role-based security

-Disciplinary system

-Internal and external report features

-Handling of annual proxy vote

-Enabling of comprehensive enumeration of qualifying and qualified professionals

 

Completion

This project was completed in 2005.

 

Results

The system has shortened the registration process, including data entry cycle, from 10 months to 3 months. Furthermore, the quality assurance features have delivered a substantial improvement in the accuracy of data input and accelerated payment.
